Thanks to Switchy integration with Zapier. You can automatically update a link on Switchy when a trigger is activated.

You can for example set up an automatic update of Switchy link when you post on Wordpress, or when you add a new row to a Google Sheet.

Let's see how to add Switchy in your Zapier workflows, and how to activate the different options on your links.

🚧 Before you start, you'll need to set up an action or event that will trigger the creation of a Switchy link.

A. Choose App

Type "Switchy" in the search bar and select the Switchy App.

B. Action Event

Select the option "Update Link" in the drop-down list and click on "Continue".

C. Choose account

1. Either click on "Sign-in to Switchy.io" (if it's the first connection) or select the workspace you want to connect to.

2. A pop-up will open, input your Switchy API Key in the dedicated field and click on "Yes, continue"

3. Click on "Continue".

D. Set up action

The set up of this automation is almost the same as the "Create Link", except:

  • The "Slug" and "Custom Domain" fields are be used to identify the link you want to update.

Example: If you want to update the link "https://hi.switchy.io/hello" you'll need to input "hi.switchy.io" in the "Custom Domain" field, and "hello" in the "Slug" field.

  • Link update will save existing parameters of the link. If a field is left empty, the existing parameter of the link will be kept.

Example: My link has some retargeting pixels added before the update. If I leave the "Pixel ID" field empty in Zapier, the same pixels will be kept on the updated link.

You'll then have to fill different fields to set up the options of the link that will be updated.
